How to get to Birini Castle?
If your plane has landed in Riga airport, you have a possibility to:
take a taxi, which will take you right to Birini Castle;
rent a car and go ~60 km along VIA BALTICA main road towards Tallinn until you reach the road sign "Birini 14 km", and then go to Birini (~75 km in total). ielikt saiti
take an airport bus to Riga bus station (centrāltirgus), in the ticket office buy a bus ticket to Birini on one of the intercity bus routes, Riga - Limbazi via Vidrizi, or Riga - Ainazi via Limbazi. You should ask the driver to stop at the bus stop „Birinu Pils”.
If you go by your personal car, your main orienting points will be the following:
on VIA BALTICA main road, between Riga and Tallinn, by Saulkrasti, the turn to Birini 14 km in Limbazi, go to Riga, and after 32 km you will be in Birini
In Sigulda, go to Turaida Castle, then to Ragana, and turn to Limbazi
On Valmiera road, in Ragana, turn to Limbazi and go 8 km
For bicycle tourists, we recommend to go by train to Sigulda or Saulkrasti.
1) From Sigulda, you should go to Turaida, then head for Ragana, and after that turn to Limbazi. Go until you notice the gates with the inscription "Birini Pils" .
2) From Saulkrasti railway station, go towards Riga until you reach the crossing with the road sign "Birini", and then go to Birini.
In special cases, you can go from Riga by helicopter or by hot air balloon.
